Discover The Key Elements to Effective Reading Instruction and Intervention!
The best way to help your students learn to read is by understanding what their brain has to do in order to learn to read.

Contrary to popular belief, learning to read is NOT a natural process. Yes there are some students who make learning to read almost effortless, but it isn’t the case for about 40% of the population.

As an educator, you need to know how to reach those struggling readers in your class. The good news is, the strategies you use to help those students learn to read can help the skilled readers become even better.
It also provides you with practical information about how to teach these concepts in your classroom and actually includes various materials and activities for your to use. This means you won’t have to spend time creating your own or purchasing them somewhere else.

This course starts at the beginning, making sure that you are not missing any important concepts about how we learn to read before providing you with the components you need to include in your instruction.
There are simple screening activities that you can use throughout the school year to help inform your instruction. This allows you to tailor your classroom and small group instruction to the classes needs.

Reading Development Explained starts out by providing you with the theory and background knowledge you need to understand the developmental progression your students take on their path to becoming skilled readers.

There are lessons focused on meta-analyses of the research so that you can see the evidence behind the topics covered in the course.
Reading Development Explained is not a curriculum, it is a course that provides you with the knowledge and tools you need to nurture ALL of your students’ reading development.
Every child has the Right To Read!

This course will teach you about best practices for reading instruction and interventions. Understanding the theory and research behind evidence-based practices is the first step in helping your students become better readers. Using these instructional strategies isn't as hard as you think! Especially when you get access to over 200 pages of materials and activities in the course.
